IEA Membership IEA is made up of 59 educational systems, represented by research institutions or government research agencies. However, the membership generally is considered in terms of countries, given that only a few members are represented by more than one educational system. To join IEA, an organization must possess a proven research tradition, have good links with policy-makers and funders and have access to schools or testing purposes. The association also includes a small number of individual and honorary members whose election is based on their excellent contributions to the work of IEA over many years.
